Welcome to 2010WorldEquestrianGames.net
The FEI World Equestrian Games in 2010 will take place at the Kentucky Horse Park in beautiful Lexington, Kentucky. Lexington, Kentucky is located in central Kentucky and is known as the Horse Capital of the world. Largely in part for breeding many of the very finest Thoroughbred horses in the world year after year. Lexington is also the home of the Keeneland thoroughbred horse racing track, the Red Mile thoroughbred horse racing track, the Kentucky Horse Park, and is just over an hour drive to Churchhill Downs which is the birth place and home of the Kentucky Derby.
The World Equestrian Games, held every four years, are comprised of the world championships for eight equestrian sports. The categories held are: dressage, show jumping, eventing, driving, vaulting, reining, endurance, and para-equestrian. In 1990, the inaugural games were held in Stockholm, Sweden, and have never taken place outside of Europe.
The 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Kentucky will represent the largest equestrian sporting event ever held in the United States. This raises a growing concern, can Lexington, Kentucky handle the massive amount of spectators the 2010 World Equestrian Games will bring? Lexington has an estimated population of less than 272,000 people, the 2010 World Equestrian Games are expected to bring an additional minimum 600,000 spectators and some estimates say up to 1 million spectators could be in attendance.
There are approximately only 7,400 hotel rooms in Lexington, Kentucky. During the college football season of 2007 when the Kentucky Wildcats played the LSU Tigers at Lexington over 98% of the hotel rooms were booked up, even the surrounding towns Nicholasville, Georgetown, and Frankfort were all booked up making hotels very difficult to find. This has us very concerned about how the town of Lexington will fare when the 2010 World Equestrian Games and the massive number of attendees come to town.
Not only is an estimated $180 million to $500 million for the state of Kentucky at stake, but if it's a flop the future of where the World Equestrian Games will be held may also be on the line.
I live in Lexington and will let you know more on this developing story.

The 2010 Equestrian Games expects to sell 600,000 tickets, which is not necessarily 600,000 individual visitors. The Games Housing Bureau is working to facilitate accommodations in the Lexington area, Northern Kentucky, and Louisville in order to manage room night requests. With a projected economic impact of $150 million, the 2010 Games is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the city of Lexington and the state of Kentucky to promote itself as a wonderful play to live, work, and visit, as well as benefit financially from this event.

We are an independent property management group helping individuals who live in Lexington and the surrounding areas rent their homes during the games. Our hope is to increase the availability of places to stay for the huge influx of people expected for the 2010 games. We have 3 categories of rentals available in addition to several farms for those needing additional space or horse facilities.
